Doctors discover 7 needles in baby’s body in Kapenguria


Doctors have discovered seven sewing needles lodged in the body of three-year-old child at Kapenguria County Referral Hospital in West Pokot.

The metals were discovered through an X-Ray scan conducted on Wednesday. Five needles are in the girl’s belly and two in tissues around the back.

The baby was abandoned by her mother because of her frequent sickness over the last one year. She has been under the care of her grandparents who said their daughter eloped with another man.

According to her grandparents, the child has been complaining of stomachaches and been endlessly coughing for the past one year.

Three women sells two-month-old baby for N300,000 read


Three women, including the mother of a two-month-old baby boy, who conspired among themselves to sell the baby for N300,000 without the consent of his father, have been arrested by the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Team, led by ACP Bennet Igwe. 
The team also arrested four men suspected to be the killers of Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogbogoro community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state, Mr. Heaven Ihuigwe, who was murdered in September 2017. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, Cyril Okoro, while briefing journalists in Port Harcourt, said: “Operatives of the IGP team unit, acting on credible intelligence, arrested Nkechi Uzoemene, Roseline Okey and Nwolu Rita, who conspired amongst themselves and sold a two-month-old baby boy belonging to Nwolu Rita for N300,000 without the consent of her husband. 
Baby factory discovered Okoro added that the team recovered the baby alongside nine pregnant girls, when they bust a baby-making factory in Imo State ran by one Mrs. Ngozi Egeonu. His words: “The child was sold to Ngozi Egeonu in Owerri, Imo State. After searching the house and premises of Egeonu, the operatives discovered nine pregnant girls, whose pregnancies have been mortgaged.” However, the suspects told Vanguard that they were innocent of the crime, adding that the baby was not sold, rather the little boy was sent to the home in Owerri for care. killers’ arrests The team, according to Okoro, also arrested four men suspected to be the killers of Chairman of PDP, in Ogbogoro community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state, Mr. Ihuigwe, who was murdered in September 2017. 
Okoro stated that the killers of Ihuigwe were arrested through investigations, adding that the suspects have confessed to the crime. According to the Police boss, “following a tip-off, men of the IGP Monitoring Unit arrested one Ifeanyi Okoro, 25, residing at Omagwa community in Ikwerre Local Government Area. On interrogation, the suspect confessed to have been involved in the murder of Ihuigwe.
“He mentioned Ajade Niyi, Austin Isotec, Chief Joseph Iwuoku and another, who is at large, as being involved in the assassination.”  ‘Why we killed him’ Shockingly, one of the suspects in the murder of Ihuigwe, Niyi Ajade, disclosed that they killed the victim so they could have access to sell off a portion of land linked to him as caretaker. Ajade said that the chief who wants to sell the land said the area will be sold for N20 million, adding that he was given N30,000 to carry out the killings.

Young Criminal 17-yr-old girl arrested for kidnapping baby in Lagos

A 17-year-old girl has been arrested in Lagos State for allegedly stealing a child.

One Chizoba Maduegbunam , a 17-year-old girl, Chizoba Maduegbunam, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly abducting a little child » in the Oto-Awori area of the State, Vanguard reports.

The suspect was nabbed by community members on Thursday while attempting to abduct the child » and handed over to the police.
According to a resident, Maduegbunam was first taken to the palace of the traditional ruler of the area, the Oni-Ijanikin, who invited the police and handed her over to the law enforcement officers from the Ijanikin Division of the State Police Command.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Supol Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident, saying the case is currently under investigation.

Woman with her baby, 2 others killed in Bomb explosion in Biu, Borno state

Four persons including a woman and her baby have been confirmed dead in a bomb attack in Biu, Borno state this morning. According to a statement by the Nigerian Army, at about 8.15am today a tricycle, known as “Keke NAPEP” unknowingly stepped on an Improvise Explosive Device (IED) planted by the side of Biu -Damboa road close to a military checkpoint at the outskirts of Biu town, Borno State.
Unfortunately, the IED exploded instantly killing 4 persons comprising of a woman with her baby and 2 other male adults. Three other persons were injured including a soldier and they were immediately evacuated to Biu General Hospital.
We regret to state that the injured soldier also died at the hospital. The general area has been cordoned off and Explosive Ordinance Device (EOD) team from Forward Operation Base (FOB) in Buratai have been mobilized to carryout further search of the area. Preliminary investigations shows that the IED was buried long time ago undetected. It exploded when the tricycle erroneously stepped on it.
